Artists Bios:

Carmela Greco, daughter of the legendary José Greco, has evolved into a world-renowned flamenco dancer and choreographer in her own right. She began dancing at an early age in Madrid, Spain, studying all forms of Spanish dance and went on to dance as prima ballerina in the company of Luisillo for three years, before founding her own company and touring throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Ms. Greco has performed for the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, and the Duke of Edinburgh, and has danced in all the leading tablaos in Spain. Some of the many places Ms. Greco has performed include the Joyce Theater in New York , Lincoln Center, Jacob's Pillow, the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami, Teatro Bellas Artes of Madrid, and the Seville Bienal de Flamenco, as well as collaborations with the Jose Greco II Company.

Ms. Greco has taught at the Amor de Dios dance school in Madrid since 1990. She began teaching intensive workshops in the US in 2003, and travels to Japan several times a year to teach sold-out master classes.

Anna Menendez is a flamenco dancer and Baltimore native based out of the Washington, DC area. Anna is a 2004 recipient of The Artist Fellowship Award from the DC Commission of Arts and Humanities. Her recent credits include "El Amor Brujo" featuring her original choreography accompanied by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Other performances to Ms. Menendez' credit include performing with "La Truco Flamenco" at the Albeniz Theatre in Madrid, Spain, The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, The Library of Congress, and The Baltimore Museum of Art to name a few.

Ulrika Frank studied dance in her native Sweden at the University College of Dance in Stockholm. Flamenco took Ulrika to Spain, where she studied with various flamenco artists, such as Manolete, Carmen Cortés and Cristóbal Reyes. Ulrika performed and taught flamenco, jazz and modern, throughout Europe before moving to Atlanta, GA, in 1999. There, Ulrika was teaching flamenco dance at the Emory University Dance Program, Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education and at Casita Flamenca, her own dance studio. After performing with many artists in the Atlanta area and helping to found Pasión Flamenca, a group which was voted Best Entertainment in Atlanta, she started Perla Flamenca Dance Company in 2001, which she directed successfully until she moved to Washington DC in August 2004. Ulrika is currently teaching flamenco dance at DC Dance Collective and at her home studio, Casita Flamenca. In the summer of 2005, Ulrika was invited to perform at The Flamenco Festival in Stockholm, Sweden, and shortly thereafter she gave master classes and shows in Amsterdam, Holland. Marlow guitar series and is a published artist of Rumbas Flamenca, a style of Spanish guitar music.
